Sunday, December 3, 2023 @ 7:30AM THE MARATHON COURSE The Rivanna Greenbelt Marathon is a Boston Qualifier, officially certified by the USATF (VA14004TR). The course is 6.5 "loops" of the fairly flat 4-mile out-and-back trail beginning at Riverview Park and following along the river on the Rivanna Greenbelt Trail. THE HALF MARATHON COURSE The half is the same as the marathon except it is 3.25 "loops" of the 4-mile out-and-back trail and the final turnaround is .55 miles from the start/finish. The half course is NOT certified. TIME LIMIT In the past we’ve had either a 4 hour or 5.5 hour time limit on the course. In 2023, participants must finish in 5 hours to receive an official time. We are a volunteer organization supported solely by tax-deductible contributions, and believe that community-wide trails serve as a resource for nature-related recreation, environmental education, and human-powered transportation. Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation for Childhood Cancer (ALSF) Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF) is changing the lives of children with cancer by funding impactful research, raising awareness, supporting families and empowering everyone to help cure childhood cancer.
